Merck Millipore, Merck’s life science department, has released a new customised service plan portfolio, which has been developed to optimise the firm’s lab water purification systems.
It offers three levels of coverage: full Service Total, advanced Service Advanced and basic Service Essential. Additional special plans for regulated pharmaceutical environments provide further coverage for labs following cGMP or GLP guidelines.
All plans have been specifically designed to sustain specified lab water quality throughout the lifetime of the purification system, and will also take into account criteria important to owners. These cover issues such as compliance with regulations, dependable and efficient maintenance and expenditure for system updates.
Service Total and Service Advanced users can also opt for Millitrack software, Merck Millipore’s diagnostic tool. This enables point-to-point or remote access to the lab water purification system, as well advanced analysis of all process steps.
“We’ve tailored our offer to provide an à la carte selection of service plans,” explains Eric Beguec, Merck Millipore Lab Solutions worldwide service and validation product manager.
“Laboratories working with critical applications, such as those in the pharmaceutical or biomedical sectors, will probably select the Service Total or Service Total Pharma plan, in order to benefit from all-inclusive coverage,” Mr Beguec adds.
“On the other hand, users requiring a little less protection, but who still need to avoid any unplanned expenses and keep downtime to a minimum, may wish to choose the Service Advanced or Service Advanced Pharma plan. Finally, the Service Essential or Service Essential Pharma plans provide the lightest coverage, which is adapted for labs with routine upkeep needs,” he continues.
All the service plans include one preventative maintenance per year, when a Merck Millipore factory-trained service engineer will carry out thorough checks on the lab water purification system. The expert will examine everything from system specifications, monitoring and operational functions to hydraulics, mechanics and electronic parts, to ensure lab water quality remains high. Worn parts will be replaced to help prevent any problems.
“Our comprehensive range of service plans is designed to match our customers’ application, quality and budget needs,” Mr Beguec concludes.
