Beckman Coulter’s new application note on their DelsaMaxTM PRO light scatter analyser provides information on the instrument’s non-destructive analysis of macromolecules and proteins.
Light scatter analysis is an important approach for determining the charge characteristics of proteins and other macromolecules, a crucial part of formulation development and stability testing. Beckman Coulter Life Sciences’ DelsaMaxTM PRO uses Dynamic Light Scatter to determine sample zeta potentials in only a few seconds, reducing any exposure to strong, oscillating, electric fields that might cause molecular dissociation or aggregation.
Beckman Coulter also supplies the DELSAMAX ASSIST module, which pressurises (30x atmosphere), the flow cell to prevent the appearance of sample bubbles that might affect instrument operation. The DelsaMaxTM PRO can also be programmed to produce a temperature ramp, allowing a series of readings to be taken at different temperatures simulating accelerated ageing.
