FRITSCH Mini-Mill PULVERISETTE 23: Ultra-compact and Ultra-effective

For fine comminution of very small samples, the Mini-Mill PULVERISETTE 23 from FRISCH is quite simply unbeatable. Unlike other mills, it is designed to combine the action of spherical grinding balls with spherical – rather than cylindrical – grinding bowl inner walls, for greater efficiency.

Although highly compact, with a footprint of just 20 x 30 cm, it is powered by a large DC motor whose rotation is converted into strong vertical oscillations through its lifting piston gear. Large-amplitude, high-frequency oscillating movements of the grinding bowl generate collisions and friction between the grinding balls and the grinding bowl inner wall.

As well as grinding dry samples, the PULVERISETTE 23 can be used for wet grinding of solids in suspension, mixing and homogenising of emulsions, preparation of soluble biological samples and comminution of frozen or soft chilled materials.

Its many applications include preparation of samples for chemical, mass spectrographic, chromatographic and x-ray structural analyses. Genetic research, work on pigments and precious materials, homogenisation of ingredients and forensic analysis of extracts are other areas in which its help will be invaluable.

To go with the PULVERISETTE 23, FRITSCH offers compatible grinding balls and bowls in a choice of four materials. In general, the balls and bowls used in a particular application should be of the same material, which should be harder than the substance being ground. This will avoid contamination of the sample with material rubbed from the mill.

The Mini-Mill PULVERISETTE 23 deals with samples of less than 5 ml and is extremely easy, quick and economical to operate. Its practical features include a convenient design for cleaning, a simple twist-and-turn grinding bowl assembly and low maintenance requirements.
