Digital Microscopy Camera - DP21 From Olympus

The new Olympus DP21 digital microscopy camera is a solution for HD microscopy image capture in a standalone unit which does not require a PC. This 2.11 megapixel camera provides researchers in the life sciences and materials science laboratory with a tool that permits easy real time observation in 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) resolution at a color depth of 16.7 million with user friendly, intuitive control of framing and focusing through the included handset.

The DP21 displays these HD images at 15 fps for seamless, near-film quality imaging, even during focus adjustment. The quality of the imaging is not compromised by rapid movements, making the DP21 an excellent choice for viewing live samples. Everything down to the smallest details are readily visible, whether the user is viewing metallic samples or histopathology specimens. The high color fidelity of the camera provides the viewer with a realistic image of the sample.

The easy to use handset of the Olympus DP21 digital microscopy camera makes this benchtop digital imaging system one which can be used without any connected PC or the need for any sort of specialized software .All of the necessary controls are included in the handset in order to provide a quick, easy way to view samples and capture high quality HD images. Analysis can be performed on immunostained specimens such as boundary length measurements can be stored onboard.

A mouse, keyboard and other peripheral components can be easily connected using the DP21’s 4 integrated USB ports. Data from this versatile digital microscopy imaging system may be saved to an external drive connected via one of these USB connections or exported via the unit’s LAN port to a networked server or PC for storage, reporting and further analysis.
