Blood Culture Bottle And Tubes From Oxoid

Oxoid Isolator 1.5 tubes are a blood culture bottle for collecting low volume (especially pediatric) blood samples for the isolation of microorganisms. The sample can be transferred directly from tube to agar media for isolation and identification.

The tube contains agents which block coagulation and lyse erythrocytes and leucocytes. The agents used are purified Saponin  as a cell lysing agent which is not toxic to microorganisms, Sodium Polyanetholsulphonate (SPS) as an anticoagulant and inhibitor of phagocytosis and neutralizes blood’s bactericidal properties.

These agents are present in the following concentrations:

  • 8 mg/L Polypropylene Glycol
  • 9.6 gm/L Sodium Polyanetholsulphonate
  • 40 gm/L Purified Saponin

 

Oxoid Isolator 10 Tubes Blood Culture Bottle

The Oxoid Isolator 10 is designed for collecting and concentrating microorganisms from blood and other bodily fluids. These tubes are ideal for applications in clinical laboratories where microorganisms must be concentrated before being transferred to conventional agar media.
The tube contains agents which block coagulation and lyse erythrocytes and leucocytes.
