Milling Ductile Materials Using Pulverisette From Fritsch
27th May 2015
This application note provides an introduction to the milling of ductile materials using the FRITSCH Planetary mono mill PULVERISETTE 6. Hard and brittle materials can easily be comminuted - reduced to a fine powder - within the Pulverisette 6 grinding bowl, because of the sample's planetary motion during the process.
Ductile materials, such as copper and gold, which are more readily deformed without fracture, can be comminuted, but to a lesser degree, as illustrated here by the explanatory electron micrographs.
