YSI (UK) Ltd began as Clandon Scientific Ltd in 1976 and has specialized in the sale and service of sensor technologies, real time systems and analytical instruments for the UK market. The company's offerings are in use in the Biotech, Biofuel, Clinical and Food & Berverage markets with sales to  hospitals, clinical and academic research laboratories, university, pharmaceutical, Biofuel, food and beverage production and research facilities, and a wide range of other environments for an equally wide variety of applications.  

The company became YSI (UK) Ltd. in 1992 after being acquired by YSI Incorporated, continuing its mission to provide users with the best in technical applications, customer service and support as well as its acclaimed ranges of scientific and medical instruments. The staff of YSI UK possesses extensive expertise and years of practical experience with their products, being part of YSI personnel available in locations spread across the globe to provide prompt, professional service and assistance to customers.

The company is best known for their own YSI Life Sciences products, including the well established, tried and tested Gold Standard YSI 2300 STAT Plus Glucose analyzer for glucose/lactate analysis.  YSI (UK) also distributes the Mindray range of biochemistry analyzer products which provide users with the fast, accurate measurement and analysis of enzymes, proteins and substrates for the smaller clinic and research laboratory environments. The YSI (UK) product range would not be complete without analytical instruments from Reichert, the key product being the Unistat bilirubinometer.
